Good Neighbors is thrilled to announce that we have a new partner in our work to restore hope by repairing homes for low-income families! The Foxwynd Foundation DAF funded the Foxwynd Foundation’s generous grant to Good Neighbors for the expansion of our Healthy Homes program.

If you received our Annual Report last month, you may have seen that our volunteer workforce donated 4,699 hours of service in 2023. That’s an average of 12 hours/day! We are so grateful for the time, energy, and passion of our volunteers who continue to support our mission of providing critical repairs to low-income families in our community.

This fall, Good Neighbors welcomed back volunteers from WSFS Bank and CSC Global, who both participated in Hands of Hope in the spring. This time around, they replaced a leaking roof for a Newark homeowner, Janice and her sons.

Good Neighbors Board Member, Alice Agostinelli, spearheaded Willowdale’s DIY Summer Camp. “I don’t think people realize how much you can accomplish in just three days,” she said. “The kids worked really hard, and they loved it.”

It was the end of a long, hot day when Joanne and Joe piled into the van with their teens from Heritage Presbyterian Church... As the van pulled out of the driveway, a neighbor called out to them, “Great job, guys!”

“We’d been there all week and had never seen him before,” Joanne said. “But it just goes to show you, the world is always watching.”

Good Neighbors Home Repair is pleased to invite your employees to join us in making an impact during our two volunteer events. Throughout the week, volunteers from various local companies will make critical home repairs for low-income families in Chester, Lancaster, & New Castle counties.

For thirty years Good Neighbors has been restoring hope to low-income homeowners by making free, critical home repairs. We hope you will join us in celebrating this anniversary by making a monthly or one-time donation of $30 to benefit single parent families.
