Giving Online is Secure and Easy

GIVE TODAY
The need for home repair among those who can't afford it is great. Our commitment to provide free home repair to qualified homeowners depends on funds we receive each year. Our work is year 'round and your contributions, whether one-time or recurring make a real difference in the lives of seniors, widows, single moms and disabled veterans. Would you join us in restoring hope for those who need to see others care.
You can give a one-time gift or set up monthly donations.
CLICK HERE to give online. It's secure, and easy to use.

There are Many Ways to Give

Charitable Gifts of Stock

Giving the gift of appreciated stock that has been held at least one year is a great way of blessing our home repair work while giving you, the donor, a wonderful and impactful gift.  If your stock has a basis of $500, but has appreciated to $1,000, you will owe capital gains tax on the $500 increase in value.  In contrast, if you gift the stock to Good Neighbors (or any other non-profit), the capital gains tax is avoided and the entire amount of $1,000 is a tax-deductible gift.

The procedure is as simple as giving your broker the following information to transfer the shares that you desire to give.
Commonwealth Financial Network
For Account of – Good Neighbors Inc.
Account # H2Y308093
DTC # 0226

Please let Good Neighbors know of your gift by phone, email or mail so that we can verify receipt of the stock and acknowledge your charitable donation.

Thank you in advance for your generosity in helping us restore hope by repairing homes.

Required Minimum Distribution

If you are over 72 with an IRA, you know that you must take a Required Minimum Distribution. Did you also know that you can designate some of those funds to a nonprofit, which will reduce your taxable income dollar for dollar?  This is especially beneficial if you don’t itemize but could be beneficial even if you do. Consider contacting your financial advisor to see if this would help reduce your taxes next year.

United Way

If you are donating to Good Neighbors through United Way, please use the following designations:
  • For UW Southern Chester County, reference: 'Good Neighbors Inc - Kennett Square'
  • For UW Delaware, use code: 12722
  • For Southeastern PA, use code: 49733
  • For all other United Way chapters reference:  'Good Neighbors - Kennett Square'

Helping Families in Need

Hundreds of families in our area are living in homes with no heat, broken or unsafe stairs, and leaking roofs.  You can make a difference.  Your donation will purchase new windows, roofing materials, safe electrical outlets and other materials to make the homes of the elderly, the disabled and single moms with kids safe, dry, warm and healthy again.

Other people like you have recognized the value of giving to Good Neighbors:
Good Neighbors is a compassionate ministry that understands and strives to serve others," said Michelle Fischer, Director of Marketing and Communications, Covenant Wealth Strategies.
"We recognize the work Good Neighbors has done in our community and we know they are a competent and reliable organization that will provide the repairs needed so homeowners will have a safe, dry, warm place to live.  Their model of working with volunteers means that they are very efficient and are able to do more repairs per dollar than most other organizations," shared Marcus Henry, General Manager of the Department of Community Services for New Castle County.
The leadership and service opportunities that Good Neighbors generate, motivates us to continue serving our community. It is a great blessing for Willowdale Chapel to have a partner who promotes the values of the Kingdom of God and allows our volunteers to grow as disciples in their faith and good works,"
stated Gustavo Chataneda, Community Engagement Pastor at Willowdale Chapel.
Would you join the hundreds of other donors who provide help to those in need in our neighborhoods?  Your gift today can make sure some child is warm or an elderly woman is safe in their own homes.  Thank you for your generosity.
