Fresh Perspectives & Talented Support Help Us Move Forward

As you know, we at Good Neighbors Home Repair have set our sights on serving those among us who are less fortunate. For the past 18 years, we have dedicated our time, money and talents to making sure GN kept that focus. We reported in our December newsletter that the need for home repair services was greater than our ability to deliver and believing this will continue to be the case, the Board of Directors has set several priorities for the organization in 2010:

  • Succession planning for Jay Malthaner and Danny Wigley. Jay is the Executive Director and Danny is Office Administrator. Jay is currently wearing 2 hats -- that of Executive Director and Operations Director. He wants to remain involved working on the homes, organizing work and interacting with the clients. So we are actively looking for someone who is interested in being the voice and face of Good Neighbors to the public. Danny wants to devote more time to his family and is ready to hand the reins of managing the office to an ablebodied soul who loves detail, databases and finances.
  • Board development. The strength of every non-profit is based in the strength of its board. To move forward we need even greater diversity and talent at the board level.
  • Fund development. The third leg of this stool is the funding needed to continue and grow, in order to be better equipped to meet local needs. We have been blessed with two talented fellows who are working on grants and gifts. The office will be simultaneously working with them to raise awareness of Good Neighbors and its work.

We want you, our supporters to know what we are doing and why. You are our partners and your support in prayer, donations and personal service is paramount to our success. Throughout this year, we will let you know how we are progressing. Thank you for all you do for Good Neighbors.
